About CALC

A learning community is a group of people who share common interests and who are actively engaged in learning together from each other. The learning community approach recognizes that students can learn a lot from each other by collaborating on projects that link classroom theory to practice.

Covering both performing and fine arts, the ANU Creative Arts Learning Community aims to provide an ‘arts experience’ to not only art students, but to anyone with an interest in the area. It is a place for expression and a learning environment where participants can gather the skills to express themselves in any form; be it visual, dramatic, acrobatic or musical.

Creative Arts is an umbrella term, which encompasses various types of art. Artists of all calibers have the unique ability to transcend conventional ideas and relationships in order to create meaningful new interpretations and forms.

This year ANU Creative Arts Learning Community plans to run two year long events, eight performance, workshop, lecture and forum style one day events and one Gala event at the end of the year.

Our vision is that CALC will be a place for everybody to learn the skills in order to express themselves in a creative format.
